茶花性喜溫暖，濕潤的環境。
花期較長，從10～5月都有花開，盛花期在1～3月。
花瓣為碗形，分單瓣或重瓣。
茶花有紅、紫、白、黃各色花種，甚至彩色斑紋茶花。
茶花凋零是連同花萼整朵掉落的，又稱為「斷頭花」。
佛教寺廟常種植山茶花，在禪宗象徵清心寡欲。

Camellia likes warm ＆ humid environment.
The flowering period is long, with flowers blooming from October to May, and the full blooming period is from January to March.
The petals are bowl-shaped, with single or double petals.
Camellia has red, purple, white, yellow petals, and even colored dappled camellia.
Camellia withered with the whole flower falling with the calyx, and is also called "decapitated flower".
Buddhist temples often plant camellia, which in Zen symbolizes a clear heart and less desire.
