The Alcan Highway stretches from the continental U.S. to Alaska across the Southern corner of Canada. It was built buy United States Army engineers in 1942 as a strategic move for the U.S. during WW2. One-third of the men assigned to the project were African-Americans who made up the Black Corps of Engineers. Take a look back at the history of this project with us as we celebrate Black History Month.
