Republican former President George W. Bush called out the rioters who stormed the US Capitol building on Wednesday.
Thousands of Trump supporters violently forced their way onto the Capitol grounds and into the Capitol building.
The insurrection forced a shutdown of the House and Senate chambers of the US Capitol on Wednesday.
Former President Bush called the scene "sickening and heartbreaking" in a pointed statement.
He went on to say "I am appalled by the reckless behavior of some political leaders since the election".
