Good morning, good evening, & good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and viewers from around the world; welcome to Quality Candor. Simple, honest-to-God, freethinking reviews because what other reviews should there be? I'm you're host, Jake Calta, and in this podcasty prelude I will be giving you the low-down on what this channel is all about.

Quality Candor is a weekly review program devoted to the celebration of two things near and dear to me: movies and music. The plan is to release frill-free, skit-free reviews of films, television series, and music releases. These will largely be older pieces of media, or nostalgic modern works, occassionally delving into the outright contemporary. The plan is to release a weekly video on Saturday, sometime around 3 PM EST. While I won't have anything together for this coming Saturday, I will try to have things organized so that uploads can start on either the 16th or 23rd of January, although my college work may get in the way thereafter. All the same, the idea is to have a nice afternoon slot that gives me time to upload the video to each platform, as I'm not particularly confident in the syncing possibilities between platforms

The plan is to host the videos on not one, not two, but four video hosting platforms: YouTube, Dailymotion, Rumble, & Bitchute. The reason being that a decentralized approach to video hosting is a safe bet considering the continued devolution and overcorporatization of YouTube as a platform that has made growing a channel on it substantially more difficult. Simply put, the YouTube of today is not the YouTube of yesterday, and all the much less for it. However, due to it still having the largest audience of any video hosting platform, there is no sense in not maintaining a presence on it.

The only social media prescene at the moment will be on Twitter, @CandorQuality. I think it's only fair considering how much I'm already juggling with the four video platforms to begin with. However, I may branch out onto other platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and potentially even Parler if the need arises, though for now, Twitter should suffice.

All in all, I do hope you will join me for the ride as I'd love to share with people my discoveries in the world of cinema and music, largely thanks to my penchant for unearthing the obscure. Thank you for your time, and I'll catch y'all on the flip side.
