Minnesota state Sen. Jerry Relph died Friday of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. He was 76.
He was the main author of a bipartisan bill in March that provided emergency funding for combating COVID-19 in the state.
CNN reports Sen. Relph had represented the St. Cloud area. He had tested positive for the disease on November 13th.
He was exposed to the virus at the Minnesota State Capitol.
He is survived by his wife, Pegi Broker-Relph, who says that her husband loved serving the people of St. Cloud and 'cherished every minute of it.'
