For part 1 of “Camping at Fort Pickens National Seashore,” we started our trip by stopping at Cotton Blues in Hattiesburg Mississippi. After having an amazing meal, we went in search for a primitive campground in De Soto National Forest. Next morning woke up, took down camp, and headed for Pensacola Florida with our first stop being Maria’s Fresh Seafood Market. There we pick up a pound of shrimp, then left there and headed to Publix in Gulf Breeze to do a little grocery shopping.

Once the errands were done, we were free to head on over the bridge, pass through Pensacola Beach, and check-in at Fort Pickens Campground. Took a moment to pitch a tent, and then we were finally free to go to the whitest beaches in the world.

That evening Kellie made shrimp and grits from with the shrimp we picked up from Maria’s Fresh Seafood in Pensacola. The next morning Cody went for a walk on the beaches of Fort Pickens National Seashore near Pensacola Beach.

After the walk, Kellie made breakfast, and then we were ready for our first full day at the beach. While at the beach, we met Phil Hollandsworth and KyleForAwhile (YouTube creators and fishing guides). They gave us a few tips on beach fishing, and caught a crazyfish. Their links are below.

We ended part 1 of 2 by cleaning up and heading to Palafox Street in downtown Pensacola. There we had ahi tuna and wine at The Wine Bar on Palafox.
