Thailand: Huge protest challenges monarchy and government
"Pro-democracy protesters staged a huge rally in the Thai capital Bangkok. Thousands joined in a rare challenge to the monarchy. They want curbs on King Vajiralongkorn's power, fresh elections and democratic reform.
Marchers handed a letter to guards at the royal palace containing a list of demands to the King.
These include removing Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha from office and a new constitution. Activists also installed a plaque symbolizing democracy.
The latest protests are the biggest seen in Thailand this year."
