Public Health Experts: To Avoid A 'Twindemic,' Get Your Flu Shot Now Unlisted Video
Summer’s nearly over. Now, the COVID-19 pandemic and the impending influenza season has public health experts warning of a 'twindemic' effect.
According to HuffPost, such an event could sicken the population and overwhelm hospitals.
While the world waits with bated breath for a COVID-19 vaccine, people won't have to wait for the readily available annual flu shot.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone over six months old get a flu shot in September or October, especially seniors.
People 65 and older don’t build up the same level of immunity, and might not have immunity for as long as younger people generally have.
Seniors also require a high-dose vaccine, which is available wherever you get your standard flu shot.
