Maltese takes paw marking his territory seriously
Burdo (Buddy) the maltese is hilarious most of the time, but when he is being walked in the yard its normally funny. He begins with kicking his back legs out, growling, with his tail and head held high. Just as he starts this way when he is through its a repeat of the beginning. Dogs have glands in their paws and when they kick back their legs the glands secrete pheromones. Believe Budro is aware of this and puts a bit more energy into kicking his legs with letting his voice be heard that he is the boss. Budro normally on a daily basis has us laughing. He has a bit of an extended tongue so it hangs out a bit all of the time which just makes him that more cuter. Even when his misbehaving its hard to hold back how hilarious he can be. We have to keep him on a leash when we walk him otherwise he tries to fight Sasha the Rottweiler, horses, and the cows. The only animals he is nice to are the cats unless they get near his bed or food. He was an rescue we brought home October 2020, we were told he had biting issues, and the vet informed us he was around 8 or 9 years old. The first month was a bit challenging but we learned to love this funny and loveable maltese. He had a rough life and we planned to make what time he has left as enjoyable as we can. He can be a bit grouchy and set in his ways on some issues, but we love him anyway. Often he will demand treats and argue with you about what he wants. Budro has a sensitive stomach can only eat certain dog food and treats. If you allow him to he will eat to much and get sick. In another video of Budro it shows him demanding more treats but we know it will not end well for him or for us with the mess afterwards. If you sit on the floor with him and ask for hugs he will gladly snuggle up to you and be so sweet. There is another side to him if you try to clip his nails or bath him, as my daughter puts it he sounds like a rabid raccoon. Needless to say he goes to a groomer that has over twenty years experience and she just loves him. I was very thankful to find her because it was a bit stressful to try to bath and groom him myself. Overall we are glad to have Budro and enjoy his daily doses of bring joy to us and making us laugh.
