Judge Dismisses Nursing Association's Lawsuit Against Hospital Over PPE Unlisted Video
A nurse association’s attempt to sue a hospital for its failure to protect them from the novel coronavirus COVID-19 has failed.
Reuters reports a judge dismissed their lawsuit against a New York City hospital for allegedly failing to provide safety equipment.
The New York State Nurses Association sued Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.
Among other things, the lawsuit claimed the hospital was ignoring requirements that healthcare workers receive an N95 respirator mask daily.
The judge granted Montefiore’s motion to dismiss the case, saying he lacked authority to address the nurses’ concerns.
But he urged both sides to “continue their efforts to reach an amicable resolution of their disputes.”
Lives may hang in the balance, and the NYSNA nurses deserve as much. US District Judge Jesse Furman
