Republican Sen. Josh Hawley has come after Apple, Google and TikTok but now he’s focusing on Amazon. Hawley asked Attorney General William Barr to open a “criminal” case against Amazon. According to Gizmodo, former Amazon employees admitted they took third-party data to make their own products. Hawley said: The kind of data Amazon can access poses a much greater threat to competition than the data accessible to ordinary retail stores.” He said Amazon’s creation of copycat products “harms multiple small businesses.
