He explained, “I’m 51 and healthy, but I don’t want to get on the subway.” said who bought a bike two weeks ago.
Bike manufacturers and retailers say that the coronavirus pandemic has sparked bike sales across the U.S.
Arnold Kamler, the chief executive and chairman of sales at bike maker and importer Kent International Inc., says that sales were up 30% in March and increased by 50% so far in April.
The government deemed bicycles essential transportation, so many bike shops have stayed open during the widespread lockdown.
