If US President Donald Trump ever fires Dr. Anthony Fauci, he won't be out of work long.
Fauci, a leading member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, has job offers coming in from Italy.
The director of an Italian research hospital said he would welcome Dr.Fauci with open arms.
Dr. Giuseppe Ippolito, the scientific director of Lazzaro Spallanzani hospital in Rome, said: "the world needs Fauci."
Dr. Ippolito wrote a letter to Italian President Sergio Mattarella saying; "Italy should welcome Fauci with open arms."
Trump and Fauci have publicly expressed differing views on how the coronavirus outbreak should be handled.
According to Business Insider, the White House has dismissed any notion of tension between the two.
