Former President Barack Obama made a congratulatory call to Joe Biden following the South Carolina primary.
While the two men speak regularly, the call from Obama came after Biden's surprise victory in South Carolina.
The words of praise for Biden's win did not change the fact that Obama still plans to stay on the sidelines.
A person close to Obama said he won't be offering an endorsement as Super Tuesday approaches.
