Large areas of southeast Australia are bracing themselves for a days-long heatwave.
The scorching conditions threaten to stoke bushfires that have been burning in the region for months.
New South Wales has been one of the hardest hit by bushfires, which started earlier than usual in September.
The blazes have burnt out more than 11.7 million hectares across Australia’s most populous states.
