Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is taking a different approach to impeachment proceedings. McConnell is expected to hold a final vote to acquit President Donald Trump if he gets impeached. According to CNN, McConnell is taking this approach instead of dismissing the articles of impeachment. Republicans wants to clear the president of any charges made against him, not just dismiss the case. The Constitution requires 67 votes to convict the president and remove him from office.
