Rumble A rare suspected tornado moved through Amsterdam on Friday, August 9, whipping up debris and water, and causing damage to trees and buildings, according to local media. Sam Wokke was outside the OBA Library of Amsterdam when he filmed the whirlwind barreling across water and onto land. The Dutch national weather forecasting service Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute described the event as either a landspout or waterspout, while the private Dutch weather service Weer Plaza deemed it to be a weak (EF0) tornado. Multiple other posts from social media users showed the funnel cloud twisting over Amsterdam as dark clouds loomed overhead. In Luxembourg on Friday, 19 people were injured and 100 homes damaged after a tornado moved through the south of that country, according to local media. Credit: samwokke via Storyful
