According to Reuters, Bill Wehrum will resign from the Environmental Protection Agency at the end of the month.
Wehrum served as the head of air and radiation at the EPA.
During his tenure, Wehrum managed revising power plant rules and revamping vehicle emission standards.
But the former lobbyist for energy interests caught the attention of the EPA's inspector general, who investigated Wehrum for ethics allegations.
