Study: Opioids not to blame for decreased life expectancy among poor white Americans Unlisted Video

New research from the University of Michigan argues that substance abuse resulting from "deaths of despair" may not be to blame for declining life expectancy in the United States. According to UPI, a new study says that instead, poorer, less educated white adults are dying much earlier than more affluent white adults from internal diseases such as cardiovascular disease and cancers. Arline Geronimus is the study's lead author.
