Urgent care centers are filling an ever-growing void in the medical landscape. According to Business Insider, the number of urgent care facilities increased from 6,400 in 2014 to 8,100 in 2018, with another 500 to 600 expected to open in the coming years. Part of the reason for the rise in quick care centers is focused on patient costs.
