Reuters reports the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday blocked lower court rulings that had ordered Republican lawmakers in Michigan and Ohio to redraw their congressional maps. The lower courts ordered the two states to redraw the maps ahead of the 2020 elections after finding that the current districts had been illegally designed with the goal of weakening Democratic voters' influence -- a move called gerrymandering, which goes against the US Constitution.
