With pointed, mouse-like pink noses, bushy tails, and Bambi-like white polka dots covering their thick, tan or dark fur, eastern quolls might just be the cutest little critters you might not have known existed.
In fact, the species almost stopped existing entirely. They went extinct on mainland Australia in the 1960s, largely due to feral cats, foxes, dogs and other threats, such as poisonings, disease and road traffic.
