Rumble Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank rallied on May 15, marking the 71th anniversary of what they call the Nakba, or “catastrophe” – the name for the exodus of Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War after the state of Israel was created. The footage here shows events in Ramallah, Gaza, and Bethlehem, according to the Palestinian Quds Network. Commemorations were also held in Israel, where Nakba Day coincided with the hosting of the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv. According to the Times of Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said around 10,000 Palestinians rallied along the border between Israel and Gaza. The IDF said that “terrorist-backed” Palestinians were “rioting” along the border fence, launching incendiary devices into Israel that set fire to a field. The Gaza Health Ministry reported that at least 65 civilians, including 22 children, were injured during the protests. Credit: Quds Network via Storyful
