Rumble Grape seed oil may not sound as sexy as olive, but sometimes being bland and boring is what you need--especially for salads. According to LifeHacker Skillet, olive oil has a very "assertive" taste. So while it may be great for bread dipping, or drizzling over roasted vegetables, it can easily overwhelm the more delicate tastes found in a salad. A neutral-tasting oil—such as grape seed, canola, or plain old vegetable oil—will serve you much better, because these oils let other ingredients shine.
