Indonesia's capital city could be underwater by 2050. Due to a combination of rapidly sinking land and sea level rise, Jakarta is at risk of losing entire swathes of land to flooding. To address the issue, the Indonesian government plans to move Jakarta 100 miles away from its current location. Business Insider reports the project is estimated to cost $33 billion, but it might be the only way to save Jakarta's 10 million residents from flooding.
