Rumble Bill Shorten has used an Anzac Day speech to pledge to “do better and to do more” to help Australian war veterans. The Opposition leader made the comments during a speech in Darwin on April 25. Shorten said Australia must strive to help the new generation of veterans returning home from Afghanistan with the transition to civilian life. “Because those who have fought for our country should never have to fight post-traumatic stress, or poverty, or homelessness on their own,” Shorten said.
