According to Geek.com, "NASA’s Mars InSight lander has captured the first recorded “marsquake.” A faint signal, detected by its Seismic Experiment for Interior Structures (SEIS) instrument..." Principal Investigator Bruce Banerdt, of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, said in a statement, “InSight’s first readings carry on the science that began with NASA’s Apollo missions. We’ve been collecting background noise up until now. But this first event officially kicks off a new field: Martian seismology.
