It looks like the middle of winter outside with yesterdays round of snowfall covering the ground. We will do some melting today but with the snow being very wet and heavy it will take some time to melt all this snow, especially north of Highway 29 with snowfall totals over a half foot to near a foot. The storm system begins to break down today with a few light rain and/or snow showers on and off through the day. Temperatures rise into the lower 40s with winds out of the southwest around 15 to 20 mph with gusts near 30 mph. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with temperatures in the lower 40s with a stray shot of rain showers, especially in the Northwoods. Winds will be out of the west around 5 to 15 mph. Sunday starts out dry but later in the evening, there is the potential for another round of snowfall or rainfall, something that we will be keeping a close eye on as we head into it. Temperatures will be in the upper 30s during the day. Temperatures do return into the 50s to begin next week but we do have a chance of rain returning. Maybe these are the April showers that will bring those May flowers.
