According to Reuters, Chris Heaton-Harris, a junior minister in Prime Minister Theresa May’s government, quit his job on Wednesday because he did not support any further extension to Britain’s departure from the European Union.
In a letter to May, Heaton-Harris said “I simply cannot support any further extension to Article 50 and this obviously means I cannot stay in government.”
Heaton-Harris’ resignation comes as British Prime Minister Theresa May announced on Tuesday evening that she would request a second Brexit delay beyond the current cliff-edge date of April 12.
