According to Reuters, the top auto safety regulator in the United States opened an investigation into 3 million vehicles produced by Hyundai and Kia Motors.
The investigation will review reports of fires that led to injuries.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has received more than 3,000 reports of vehicles fires that injured over 100 people since 2007.
But the investigation will focus on five different models manufactured between 2010 and 2015.
