On Friday British Prime Minister Theresa May’s government are set to petition lawmakers to vote for a motion approving the Withdrawal Agreement (WA) reached with the EU last November. Reuters reports the motion has been brought because the EU has agreed only to extend Britain’s leaving date from March 29 to May 22 if the WA is approved this week. On Thursday, House of Commons leader Andrea Leadsom told lawmakers, “Friday’s motion gives parliament the opportunity to secure that extension. I encourage all MPs to support it and ensure that we leave the EU on the 22nd May, giving people and businesses the certainty they need.”
