Rumble - Hundreds of Algerian lawyers marched to the Constitutional Council in Algiers on Thursday, March 7, to protest against President Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s decision to run for a fifth term of office, local reports said. The lawyers are demanding that the government postpone the election and set up a transitional government, Reuters reported. Footage shared by Mustapha Bastami, an Algerian journalist, shows the lawyers at the Constitutional Council, which oversees Algeria’s elections. Bouteflika, a veteran of Algeria’s war of independence, turned 82 on Saturday and has suffered from ill health in recent years. He has been in office since 1999. Credit: Mustapha Bastami via Storyful
