A winter storm passing north of Hawaii brought high, damaging winds to the islands on February 9, leading to downed trees and power lines. This footage shows a downed power line sparking a fire in Princeville, Kauai, according to local media. Kauai county officials warned of high winds and surf, and urged caution. Kauai Island Utility Cooperative (KIUC) reported power outages around the island, while Hawaiian Electric said around noon that more than 3,400 people were without power on Oahu.
