Australia National Rugby League players helped to rescue stranded children on February 4 after flooding had left roads impassable in Townsville, Queensland. Gavin Cooper and John Asiata, who play for the North Queensland Cowboys, and Antonio Winterstein, a former player, helped carry children to dry land after their family had become stranded on a boat while trying to evacuate, Yahoo Sports reported. This footage was taken by Winterstein’s wife, Brooke. Two bodies were found in a storm drain in a Townsville suburb during a search for missing people, Australia’s Nine News reported on February 5.
