Rumble / Dogs & Puppies - A rescued pooch was treated to a full-body salon-style pampering after it was evacuated from a flooded home in Townsville, Queensland, on Sunday, February 3. In this video, filmed by Gavin Beckman, Spike the dog can’t get enough of the VIP treatment as his owner runs a hairdryer over his wet fur. Spike and his family were evacuated from their flooded home on Sunday night and took shelter at the Annandale shopping centre where owner of Tracie’s Hair & Nail salon, Tracie Davis Nieass, kept her store open for flood victims. “I knew I had hairdryers and I had a clothes dryer to get people’s clothes dry,” Davis Nieass told the ABC. In another video filmed by Beckman, flood victims and their animals can be seen taking shelter in the shopping centre which was equipped with basic supplies. As of Tuesday, February 5, flood warnings remained in place for the region, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. Credit: Gavin Beckman via Storyful
