Motorists in Cornwall Stranded After A30 Covered in Snow and Ice

Rumble / Strange Weather - Motorists travelling on the A30 road in Cornwall, England, were left stranded on January 31, after heavy snowfall hit the region. Devon and Cornwall police urged people not to travel, and told those who were stranded not to leave their vehicles and to keep warm. The Jamaica Inn guesthouse opened its doors to 100 motorists, and provided makeshift beds and shelter for those who were stranded. Teams from highways England, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue and Cornwall Council worked to free trapped motorists, and regular travel resumed before midnight.
