Christmas Contender: Yamaha Pacifica PAC012 demo

It's Christmas time again and wee Kevin and/or Tracey is pining to start their rock career™ with a starter electric - bypassing the traditional route through the world of acoustics and going straight to the heart of Rock!

So what will you buy to sate their teenage moaning?

Well, I have one of the obvious contenders here: A Yamaha Pacifica PAC012 which is a budget guitar often found on Amazon. I boycott Amazon and I strongly suggest going to your local guitar shop and paying a wee bit more for expert advice but needless to say, it's extremely cheap. I found one for £219 and the example I have is made in Indonesia not the heartland of CCP dictatorship that is Chine.
I also boycott Chinese products.

A work colleague had this guitar in the loft and is threatening to start playing again, so sensing a video opportunity, I offered to get it playing nicely!

Frets were polished, truss rods were adjusted, fretboard was oiled, action set and new saddles were unleashed to make this in tip top condition.

So if you want a good value guitar that punches way above its weight, then pop down to your local shop and hand over the cash!

Kevin and/or Tracey will be ecstatic.

Recorded into a Fender Twin Reverb with SM57 and no processing or funny stuff in post. An Origin Effects Revival Drive was used for some distortion in the second and third section.
