A CITY THAT IS WELL WORTH SEEKING
Hebrews 11:16 New King James Version
16 But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.
GOOD EVENING IN YESHUA MY FRIENDS!!!
Yeah, it's been a while since I read this passage out of Philippians, but when I read it this morning it really spoke to my heart on what it means to pursue and seek what matters most. To realize that you could have everything in the world, but it's nothing compared to the precious privilege of knowing Jesus Christ, and I think that's what Paul was trying to get across to these believers in Philippi. I've really thought about what Paul was saying about how we counted everything we lost, rubbish, dung excuse me, for the sake of knowing Jesus, and I wonder if I have enough guts to do that.
I think that's why this question from this morning's devotional has been really getting me to think about this issue, and I had to share it. Please read this question carefully, and I pray that God challenges your heart through it.
How does meditating on the worth of knowing Jesus help rightly align your priorities?
Tonight, my friends, I'd like to share some things that God showed me from this
passage of scripture as well as a few others through this vlog tonight, on what it means to seek not just any city, but a city that's from God. To seek a treasure that will last forever and never fade away. Come join me in this vlog tonight my friends and learn that there is a city well worth seeking, and that is found only through Jesus Christ! 😊
So, my friends, as I close this post with all of you tonight, I want to leave you with this final question from this morning's devotional, and I pray that you not only think about it, let it act on it.
What treasure are you seeking today?
I know really interesting question, right? What treasure are you seeking? As Karen Pimpo, this morning's devotional writer asks, “Are we spending your time and energy on something that can never satisfy?” If that's the case, go to the Lord right now and ask Him to help you examine your priorities, and to help you set those priorities in line with the principles and precepts of His Word. That you remember to invest and pursue and treasure that comes from heaven not on things on this earth, to never strive for anything that won't satisfy, but to pursue Christ and Christ alone. May we be like the apostle Paul and see everything the world considers important as nothing more than rubbish but pursue the treasure that is found only in Christ!
UNTIL SATURDAY:
