The forest team has recorded its fresh claw marks, its perch, its prey remains, and its movement patterns within the forest, revealing that the dense and hilly forests of Ratanmahal have become a perfect habitat for it. The department has also estimated the number of spotted, sambar, and other prey animals in the area. To increase this, wildlife management has been initiated so that the tigers continue to get their natural food chain and survive here well for a long time. This return has created a unique situation in Gujarat because now three major predators – lion, leopard and tiger – live in the same state, which is very rare in India. According to wildlife experts, this is a big success for the improvement of Gujarat's forest ecosystem and conservation efforts. If everything goes well, the tiger population here can be stabilized again in the future.
