HUMBLE THANKS FOR GODLY INFLUENCES

4 We will not hide them from their children,
Telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord,
And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.

I thought deeply about what I was reading out of this morning scripture, and while I agree with the late Chuck Smith in that Proverbs 22:6 is very controversial, I think there is some very important truths to be learned from this scripture. I believe the top reason why it's controversial, is because I believe there are people that have twisted this verse to advocate abusing children. It's been used to promote degradation, disparagement, humiliation, and torture of children, and it needs to stop. I believe what Solomon was trying to say here was pertaining to instruction not beating, and I believe if he were still around he'd be ripping a lot of denominations some new ones for how they are using this passage of scripture in an ungodly fashion. But you know today is a day of Thanksgiving, so let's do that. Let's be thankful to God for the precious gifts in our lives, and I believe one of them is the genuine godly influences that have shown and taught us the love of God in our lives.

That's why tonight, my friends, I'd like to share some things God showed me from this scripture this morning on The godly influences to be thankful for in my life, through this vlog I'd like to share with all of you tonight and I pray that what I share with you encourages you to be thankful for the godly influences in your life too. So, my friends, as I close this post with all of you tonight, I want to leave you with these questions from this morning's devotional, and I pray that you not only think about them, but strive to live them out.

How have you been shown the love of God?

How do you reverently love Him?

I pray that all of you tonight, are able to not just think about, but be grateful for the individuals who have been a positive and genuine godly influence in your life. Think about how they've shown the love of God to you and strive to emulate that. Ask God to show you ways where you can show the love of Jesus to others, especially out in this lost and dying world, but also ask God to show you ways where you can disciple, encourage, and be that godly influence to young fellow believers around you who need that training. But most of all I pray that you continue to love God and everything that you say and do, because that's the best influence you can have!
