#subscribersquadnation ; In this episode , I absolutely nerd all the way out on this technique. I throw many different brands & we get our very first Lucky Craft Pointer fish. The big one , too ( 127mm MR ) because that is how I roll in cold water. The fish either want tiny or huge , due to our big threadfin population . On the opposite side of the coin, I accidentally hooked a pin minnow retrieving through a ball of bait that couldn't have been over 2 inches long. Helps me figure out what profile size the fish want faster, along with cadence and a good suspending bait. Plus, In current , keep in mind that baits gonna be moving downstream as well as your retrieve. Round bends always on jerk baits for me, since they will slap at the bait a lot. Also in cold water, their jaws harden up to root through rocks for crawdad and whatever other snacky - snacks these fish want. I have been throwing this technique for 7 years with an in depth passion ,& am a novice at best. It also helped throwing lots of jointed Rapala s when I was a kid ; and really didn't understand the power of the jerk bait. Definitely one of my favorite ways to catch them , and that instinctual bite can't be beat - enjoy!
