KENDAL and Bree first met through a mutual friend, and ended up moving into the same house. Over time, their connection grew from platonic to romantic. Kendal explained to Truly how they became official, "The night I asked her to become my girlfriend, I got her flowers, we went on a picnic, to the movies, and it was just a special day for real." Bree is a transgender woman. She started expressing herself in a feminine way at the age of 17 and is still evolving. She said, "I'm in the process of transitioning. Transitioning never stops. I have not medically transitioned all the way. I have tried hormones, but it messed up when I was trying to get freaky and stuff." Adding, "I'm already pretty, I've got body. I feel like I'm good where I'm at." Kendal identifies as a bisexual man and said it has been a surprise for him to end up in a relationship with Bree. "Honestly, I never thought that I would date a trans woman or a trans person, period. I'm really not attracted to trans women, I'm only attracted to this trans woman because it's a special bond with her." Kendal's family has been doubtful about his relationship. "Growing up in a Christian household, they want me to be able to make it through [those] gates whenever it's my time to go. And they said being with a [trans person] that's not going to be a way there", he explained. His mother Shanette has been particularly vocal about her disapproval of the pairing. "I thought about Kendal dating a trans woman was diabolical, I didn't approve of it", she said. "I felt like if you're going to date a woman, date a woman. If you're going to date a man, date a man. I guess he wanted the best of both worlds." When asked about their future as a couple, she said, "I have reservations about them staying together. I want grandbabies from Kendal, and she can't produce that."
