11.02.25 "And Just Like That – the Climate Crisis Was Over"

You remember the "Climate Change Crisis" don't you? We used to call it “Global Warming.” It really took off back in 2006 with the Al Gore film named *An Inconvenient Truth.” The film was incredibly alarmist in tone and message. There was "scientific consensus." The world was getting warmer because of fossil fuel consumption. The polar ice caps were melting. Our coastal cities would soon be under water. We had to enact sweeping cultural, economic, and governance changes quickly or face climate catastrophe … armageddon! "[The ego] dictates endless prescriptions for avoiding catastrophic outcomes." (Tx.8.76)

What was all this but a fearful dream of a future concept, "… and many come from feverish imaginations, hot with hatred and distortions born of fear." (Tx.31.49) The ego churns up fearful scenario after fearful scenario. If one doesn’t trap us, it figures another one will.

Last week tech billionaire Bill Gates, a long term climate alarmist, told the United Nations, and thus the world, that he has been “wrong" about a climate crisis. (He didn’t use the word “wrong,” but it amounted to the same thing.) He advised to U.N. to reallocate their resources towards programs which could do much more good than fighting carbon dioxide. He advised a “strategic pivot” on policy. What happened? I thought rising CO2 levels were the enemy. "[The army of the powerless] can dream it found an enemy, but this will shift even as it attacks, so that it runs at once to find another and never comes to rest in victory. ... it caught a glimpse of the great enemy which always eludes its murderous attack by turning into something else." (Tx.21.73)

What actually did occur was the rising sea levels which were predicted in 2006 never happened. Actually sea levels have remained amazingly stable. We have multi-decade, time-lapsed videography to prove this. Also there was the inconvenient FACT, that the continent of Antartica gained 108 gigaton of ice between 2022 and 2023. Oh. That wasn’t supposed to happen. It has also now been revealed that the unanimous scientific consensus about Global Warning was vastly over reported. In fact – there was no consensus at all. However there WAS narrative manipulation.

Still, what about all that misplaced fear, and the countless billions – no trillions – spent to promote a so-called “green energy future”? Opps! A couple of years ago I gave several Sunday talks where I drew upon my own science degree from Cornell University (an official Ivy League school) to say that the Earth’s climate has always changed and there were historical times much warmer than now. Ice ages came, and ice ages went … and came, and went again. I was trying to reduce the fear. I was denigrated as a “climate denier.” This was a main reason why we lost a long time member. This former member could not be part of a church who had such an “non-scientific” Executive Minister. I guess that Cornell University Bachelor of Science diploma I have hung in my office doesn’t mean much.

What else were we fooled into fear about recently, and thus coerced to do things against our best interests? A certain pandemic comes to mind. I spoke out against that too. We probably lost more than a few members over that. And now … the fact that most of the pandemic mitigation strategies were harmful overreactions is fairly well accepted. Remember the 6 foot white circles painted on the grass in our parks to tell us where to sit with our family pod?

My simple message here is – don’t believe every prediction of catastrophe that you hear about, regardless of how many rich experts tout them. Go to the Holy Spirit and get discernment instead. Be particularly wary of those which paint mankind itself as the problem. Mankind is not the Earth's problem. Mankind has dominion over the Earth.
