Boosk's Grenade Launcher actually shoots mini-grenades. So despite the big explosions they created, it takes more hits to take out opponents, when compared to normal grenades. Something similar can be seen with the First Order Jet Trooper. They are quantity, not quality weapons. Vid timeline:
