No one told me this and I learned the hard way. Gripping with the fingers only can quickly lead to elbow pain. Always make sure the bar is deep in your palm to avoid pain issues and to improve your grip strength. Other ways to reduce inner elbow pain include improving shoulder or wrist mobility and flexibility. The elbow is just like the knee. If the mobile joints above and below aren't mobile enough, the hinge joint in the middle tries to make up for that and regrets it. Also working on the forearm function in general helps.
