In one of his first interviews since the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue attack, in Manchester, England, Rabbi Daniel Walker says the Jewish community “can’t give up”.

Speaking to Radio 4 Today’s Emma Barnett, Rabbi Walker said he has no “mental space” to think about why the attacker did it.

He also said that a visit from King Charles earlier this month showed him that “society cares” about the Jewish community.

Two congregants - Adrian Daulby and Melvin Kravitz – were killed and three others seriously injured when Jihad Al-Shamie rammed a car into and stabbed worshippers.

He was later shot dead by police. The inquest into the victims’ deaths begins on 29 October.
