Day 305 – Lost and Found: The Heart of the Father — Luke 15–18 | Bible In A Year (CSB)

In these chapters, Jesus calls His followers to live with eternity in view. He warns against greed through the parable of the rich fool, urges His disciples to stay ready for His return, and reminds us that following Him will bring division and sacrifice. In Luke 14, the parable of the great banquet shows God’s invitation to all—but not all are willing to come. Jesus closes by teaching that true discipleship requires counting the cost and carrying the cross.

Questions:
1. In the parable of the prodigal son, what do we learn about God’s character from the father’s response to his son’s return?

2. Luke 16:13 says, “You cannot serve both God and money.” How does this truth challenge your priorities or ambitions?

3. Jesus praises the humility of the tax collector who simply prayed, “God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” How does humility shape our relationship with God and others?
