While investigating the scene of a gruesome mass murder, Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners encounter a mysterious and powerful force. Chapter 13 - Casualties:

After surviving the bus crash, Sebastian and Joseph climb from the wreckage and search for a way down through the ruined high-rise. Separated when an elevator collapses, Sebastian navigates burning corridors and sneaks past The Keeper, who stalks the halls setting bear traps. He escapes through a meat locker as Joseph narrowly avoids capture, and together they regroup outside just in time to spot Kidman escorting Leslie through a nearby park. The tense reunion turns violent when Kidman raises her gun at Leslie, claiming she must kill him to stop Ruvik, prompting a standoff. A psychic shockwave shatters the moment — Kidman shoots Joseph, Leslie flees, and the ground collapses beneath Sebastian, sending him plunging into darkness.

Chapter 14 - Ulterior Motives:

Sebastian awakens deep underground in a derelict subway system and begins his search for Joseph and Kidman. The tunnels lead into a grotesque nest filled with pulsating egg sacs and stronger Haunted, all leading up to a massive tentacled creature that ambushes him from the shadows. After a brutal fight, he burns and shoots the monster into retreat, finally reaching a suspended train — only for Ruvik to appear and warp it into a nightmare corridor. Inside, Ruvik confronts Dr. Jimenez, furious for stealing his research, and we witness Ruvik’s violent arrest and descent into madness. The vision collapses into the glowing red image of a massive brain, ending the chapter.

Chapter 15 - An Evil Within:

Sebastian awakens in Beacon Hospital, trapped within Ruvik’s world one last time. Following Leslie through collapsing halls, he discovers the truth — everyone’s minds are still connected inside STEM. As Kidman appears, she once again insists Leslie must die, but Ruvik intervenes, merging with Leslie and transforming into the colossal Amalgam. Sebastian battles the monstrosity with rockets and sheer will, finally destroying it and waking in the real Beacon facility. Determined to end it, he crushes Ruvik’s brain, escapes the hospital, and steps into the daylight — as a spectral Leslie silently walks away, leaving Ruvik’s lingering presence uncertain.
