Indian President Droupadi Murmu undertook a sortie in a Rafale fighter jet from Ambala Air Force Station, becoming the first Indian president to fly in two different IAF combat aircraft. The 30-minute flight, piloted by Group Captain Amit Gehani of 17 Squadron, reached around 15,000 feet and covered nearly 200 km. Earlier, in 2023, she had flown a Sukhoi-30 MKI from Tezpur, Assam.
