MZTV 1852: A Key to Peace; Do All As Unto the Lord

If you are working hard and yet not feeling appreciated by your friends, your boss, your parents, or your spouse—there is an effective cure for it as described by Paul in Colossians 3:23, "All, whatsoever you may be doing, work from the soul, as to the Lord and not to humans."

That's right, "working as unto the Lord" is real. The Lord is real, and working AS unto Him is a fact-based exercise, yet this enterprise does involve pretending that the Lord is your boss, not the idiot who actually is your boss. Our the Lord is your professor, or your dad, or your husband. It becomes then much easier to work for a benevolent and loving Savior than for whatever ghoulish dictator currently lords it over you in this life.

When you hear me starting to quote Colossians 2:15, "And let the peace of Christ be arbitrating in your hearts," know that I am working down to the pertinent passage in verse 23. But this preliminary information—as part of the context—will also afford you great peace.
